Yesterday While I Was Asleep...
公開
Yesterday, while I was asleep, suddenly I felt someone gently pat my foot twice, and I woke up.
Is that a ghost, or is there any scientific or medical explanation? It's definitely not a dream, lol!
In a dream state your mind can blend together the active imagery of sight without your eyes actually seeing the visions. The same exact way, your mind can recall and reproduce the sensations of having your foot patted, without you actually being touched.
The reason it feels like it was a ghost is because the part of the brain that is consciously aware of the fact that it is producing the images and feelings itself--is turned off during REM sleep.
@Ultra Primarch,
I see. Thank you for the reply.
I don't know exactly what REM sleep is, so I googled it.
How do you know all these things? Are you a doctor or something, lol!
I have had extensive experience with psychological abnormalities. I have had out of body dissociation, I've had visual and audio hallucinations, I've had sleep paralysis, and more.
Like you I felt compelled to find answers because some of those experiences were terrifying. I'm not a doctor but have spoken with many and read many studies and watched many documentaries.
The human brain is incredible. The most recent documentary I watched is about agency:
https://youtu.be/yQ6VOOd73MAHave fun!
@Ultra Primarch,
Sleep paralysis sounds scary, despite being harmless from what I read, but still scary.
Yeah, imagine one day we able to find a way to fully utilize the human brain!
Anyway, thanks for the documentary!
Yeah sleep paralysis was the most horrific experience. I've actually stopped experiencing all of them! No more mental illness of any sort. I consider that a monumental victory.
If you research John Nash and how he experienced schizophrenia you can imagine what sort of effort that takes. The brain is a physical organ and can be exercised and healed.... don't tell most people what I just said. Victimhood and blaming the world for everything is way more popular than hard work.
@Ultra Primarch,
Nice, I'm glad to hear that! We all deserve a good night's sleep!
Oh, I remembered John Nash from the movie 'A Beautiful Mind', that's really incredible what he has gone through in his life. And I love that movie, lol!
