SaturdayMy regulars have tried to promote my stream before, trying to help me become a
Twitch affiliate, but nothing comes of it. So, been there Charlie Brown, been there!
Jeez! My previous blog post
only had 15 views. Note to self: No more Donald Trump images. :/>
Another fairly dead Guild Wars 2 stream
today, none of my regulars coming on (but to be fair, I had a fair amount of passers-by though). They didn't miss much though, to be honest. I did my usual crafting, then started doing fractals, but I actually ended up bailing out of most of them for one reason or another. Due to that, I just started working on map completions until I had to shut down, due to my tablet being at 20% charge (from 100% a few hours beforehand. Yeah, it drains quick. >.<
), as well as me having to buy groceries before the stores closed at 10pm (forgot to mention, I called in tonight, due to my back and shoulders being in a real shambles and didn't want to make things worse).
And here's the vinyl LPs I played today:
Weird Al Yankovic - Polka Party
Django Reinhardt - First Recordings
Metallica - Kill Em' All
Redd Foxx - At HomeSunday
This morning I decided to do another Guild Wars 2 stream
. This time, inspired by the above comic, I created a new warrior named "Charlie Brown".About as close as I could get, anyway.
I got him to somewhere around level 11, and hoping to continue playing this guy in future sessions.
And the above is YET ANOTHER
reason I like this game: "horizontal progression". As you could hopefully tell by the above image, ALL
of, say, ascended swords have the same stats, whether it be from raiding, PvP, crafted etc, unlike a lot of other games (FF XIV included), where you can only get the best in slot gear by raiding. Here, you can get the best gear in the game no matter what you do. Makes all the content actually worth doing.
And I guess that's another "If only I knew then what I know now" moment, where I guess I didn't need to spend as much $$$$
buying gold to buy crafting mats in order to make the gear I needed. I could've gotten that same exact gear from open-world vendors, quests, or as level milestones. I'm used to all of those rewards being shit compared to what you get from running dungeons/trials/raids. If only I knew then what I know now. *sigh*
And a pretty good Guild Wars 2 session
this evening. Just playing my new warrior, Charlie Brown. And like most of my other characters, I started by leveling up his crafting a bunch, eventually getting him to level 48ish (in this game, leveling crafting levels YOU
up as well) and calling it good. And I also did a slightly different gear setup as well, this time going with a "Diviner's" build:
And once all that was done, I just did some open-world map completion stuff, working on completing my starting zone.
And here's the records I played this time around:
Parliament - Mothership Connection
Devo - New Traditionalists
Ministry - The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste
Sonny Rollins - Standards
The Black Watch (Scottish bagpipe & marching band music)
Ted Nugent - Self-Titled Solo DebutMonday
This morning I played Pinball FX3 for a little while, and managed to beat my old high score on Alien vs. Predator, a fairly low-scoring table.
And I also did my Monday morning FF XIV session too, leveling up my dark knight. Level 78!:
A good Guild Wars 2 stream
today. I played my warrior alt again, starting off by changing his name, from "Charile Brôwn" to "Good Ol Chrlie Brwn", a name that the creator of the Peanuts
comic strip, Charles Schultz, wanted for his strip, but that his publisher didn't. But as Charles was at their mercy - they WERE
the ones that could publish his strip, after all - he caved in and changed the name of the strip to "Peanuts". And also, it would make it easier for other players to type down my name, since they don't have to open the character map in order to figure out the alt-code for the "ô" in my previous name.
But after the name change went through, I started working on his jeweler crafting class, and getting it all leveled up to where I can equip level 60 gear, as he is now level 63ish. I just worked on some storyline quests afterwards, as well as working on trying to complete everything in the open-world starting area, before having to shut down for the night before the grocery stores closed.
And speaking of storyline quests, I still hate the voice acting in this game. Not sure if it's the actors' fault or the director's though. It's just that, no matter which race they are portraying, whether it be human, gnome, wolfman, or even frog (to name but a few), they still sound like normal humans. Man, even the Lalafells in
FF XIV have high squeaky voices, and Roegadyns all have barrel-chested bassos. And dragons have slow, deep, resonating voices that literally causes my speaker to vibrate lol. At least they're TRYING
to sound like their characters. Haven't fought any dragons in Guild Wars 2 that I know of, but if they're all voiced as though I'm watching a TEDtalks lecture I'm gonna be pissed. Not near enough to make me quit the game - I can always skip the cutscenes - but still,.....
But moving right along, the vinyls that I played this evening were:
Roky Erickson - The Evil One
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme
Humble Pie - Self-Titled Debut
Rush - A Farewell to Kings
Lou Reed - Rock n' Roll Animal
Aaaaalrighty, calling it a night. <Take care.>
