Chūnibyō and "VERY EMO" in the PLL Part LXVI (66)

公開
FINAL FANTASY XIV Letter from the Producer LIVE Part LXVI

Yoshi-P (動画コメントを見て)「"これは良い厨二"と書いてあって、ちょっと嬉しいですね」
(Looking at the viewer's comment) "I'm kind of happy that the comment says 'this is a good "Chuu-ni"'"
Murouchi 「これは英語にしづらい」
"This is hard to translate into English"
Aimi(translator) 「Ah, this is very...very...ah, emo.」

━━━━
厨二 is a kind of slung, which means sophomoric;edgy;pretentious; or edgelord.
Generally, we do not use 厨二 for 2nd year of junior high school (corresponding to 8th grade in some countries), but 中二.
厨 means kitchen.
中 means middle.
二 means two, second.
Just like the relationship between "crack" and "krack," this way of describing the word is done to distinguish it(厨二) from its original usage(中二).

Also please refer to wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C5%ABniby%C5%8D .
Chūnibyō (中二病) is a Japanese colloquial term typically used to describe early teens who have grandiose delusions, who desperately want to stand out, and who have convinced themselves that they have hidden knowledge or secret powers. It translates to "second year disease" (i.e., middle-school second-year), and has been called "eighth-grader syndrome" in English-speaking countries.

Therefore, "good Chuu-ni" means those who have grown up in style, without losing the dreams of those days. Just like us XD

"Hey, come on, power of darkness... I shall destroy everything!"
「さあ、来たれ、闇の力よ…全てをぶっ壊してやる!」
