I started to play as Samurai recently. I recall the following story.
A few years ago, when I went to a hospital,
the operation room nurse asked if I knew Inazo Mitobe suddenly.
I replied "Yes, I know him, of cause."
Surprisingly the nurse was relative to Mr. Mitobe.
We talked about him for a while but time came to go.
After that we did not have a chance to talk further.
Later I read the book "Bushido" but Japanese translation (original was written in English).
The book described how Samurai should behave.
Bushido consists of eight virtues.
- Righteousness (義, gi)
- Heroic Courage (勇, yū)
- Benevolence, Compassion (仁, jin)
- Respect (礼, rei)
- Honesty (誠, makoto)
- Honour (名誉, meiyo)
- Duty and Loyalty (忠義, chūgi)
- Self-Control (自制, jisei)
In FFXIV, every swing of Samurai's sword gives heavy damage. Enemies' HP gets reduced in no time.
I feel good when I made a big damage by Setsu-gekka. So I just recklessly attacked.
Swing after swing, but it wasn't very good idea.
If Samurai keeps getting damage, healers should take care of it.
It means healers may not be able to heal other party members, or attack enemies because of that.
Sorry healers.
I want to use Setsu-gekka but I leave some points unguarded. I want to improve this point.
First, I want to practice mechanics. By some reason, playing as Bard refines my movements.
Then I added Third Eye between KaiTen and Setsu-Gekka. It helps me a lot.
Sometimes I can turn things around with such little things.
I'm just amazed why things change easily sometimes.
If the last boss's HP gets below 10%, I gotta go. I feel my fighting sprit is coming up.

It was a clean hit. I wanna do it again.
I forget to take a screen shot at the time, I took LB3 picture the other time.
This is nothing to do with Bushido.
I just defeat all enemies in front of me. This is my Samurai Spirit.
"f Samurai keeps getting damage, healers should take care of it.
It means healers may not be able to heal other party members, or attack enemies because of that. Sorry healers."
As a healer main I had to laugh at that. ;p
If you are being greedy with the DPS and not doing mechanics correctly, getting constantly hit with stuff you should be avoiding, we are just going to let you die.
Plus, NO DPS is more important than the tank and healer in terms of healing focus, NONE
