In honor of David Letterman's birthday, decided to try making this top 10 list of how to socialize without joining a club.
1. Queue for Roulette: Main Scenario.
Here you have a captive audience. Those cut scenes, you ain't going no where. Feel free to subject people to your dad jokes, your flap jokes, your gas jokes, etc. Tell people about the wart between your toes. They can't leave, so you got 'em.
2. Put out fake S Rank coordinates, pay anyone who shows up 5k to keep their mouth shut.
People will literally be flocking to you. The lack of an actual S Rank mob will make for a good conversation piece. "I swear it was around here SOMEWHERE ... so how's your day?"
3. Create your own Novice Network cross-world linkshell.
When people shout for an NN invite, invite them to your CWLS and watch the magic unfold. This may be the long game, but when someone gets annoying you can always give them the boot. +5 points if you're a sprout.
4. Buy an apartment or a house, put up a PF for role-play. Say you have a club or something and the first 20 people to show up get 100k. It's ok to lie.
When they get to your empty domicile, they'll see you just moving in. Tell them your best jokes and explain that the people who lived there before you threw a lot of parties. Ask them to grab the other end of that couch while they're here and help you get it down the stairs.
6. Advertise that you WTB a job stone, like Black Mage
Just pretend you don't know any better. If successful, you should get some people contacting you to tell you the game doesn't work that way and you have to do quests. Tell them your best jokes and explain that the game definitely allows this. Hopefully you get into a heated argument, then you can just ended with "Suprise!! I know all about job stones!"
7. Go to an RP house & pretend to show people pictures of your kids
You can just go on and on about your relatives, tell them about your crazy uncle. You got a cute bunny girl there, just give them all the details about your bad hip or that time you lost your contacts while fighting Ifrit.
8. I doubt anyone is still reading at this point
These is real good tips.
I’d feel trolled and speechless at the same time if any of those aside for Main Scenario roulette happened to me although I suppose I’d joke along… Mostly because I suppose I’m the 1. and 3. type myself *coff*
*ahem* yes, er, the list looks solid to me, yes, yes! Uh, I can’t count to 10, though, what’s after 7 again?
Those are actually decent tips for the most part. My game wife Aria has a cafe and people DO love to talk in those places.
Let me add 9. PF roulettes for EX's and other special stuff.
Sometimes it takes a really long time for those to fill and clear once you start. Because of this, you REALLY get to know your party members, especially if they are chatty and throw out topics of conversation.
Also, 10. Eureka and Bozja grind groups. as you are with them awhile usually, they can also be chatty.
11. Put up discord link for feet pics
