How are you? Hope you are doing fine, long time no see!
I haven't played for a time but there was also no update to the game so it was good to take a longer break. Anyways I feel whenever I don't play FFXIV for a long time I cherish the game even more when I come back. So when I jumped back in I tried to catch up on a lot of things.
A few days ago got my 100th mount,
The Air Force from Sigmascape 4 Savage (O8S). It's a nice little fight that became easier nowdays with the higher item level. I highly recommend to do it, at least to beat Kefka once again :)
When I opened my collection to check the new mount I realized that was my 100th. Quite a milestone to be honest!
The game has 178 mounts but a lot of them are not available anymore so the actual number of mounts you can get _right now_ is far lower. The 1.0 legacy mounts are not available, and all the PvP Feast season ones. So as some old event ones (FFXV Regalia)
I only have 5 paid mounts. All the Collector's Edition ones (2 from ARR, and 1 from the rest). Honestly I'd really really really love to get some of the mounts from Mog Station but they are quite pricey. Out of my budget (especially that I have to pay for the sub too). One day someone asked me what would I spend my money on if I were winning a lottery and silently I was thinking buying all the mounts from Mog Station would be my first choice :) According to
FFXIV Collect there are 24 mounts on Mog Station, so that would be a lot of money.
But back to the title what are some of my favorite ones?
Fenrir.
It's a 1m MGP mount which sounds a lot but actually isn't. Still it was a pretty good feeling when I got it. There is also a
2m MGP mount but I don't really like that. Maybe we will get a 3m MGP mount soon?
Ozma. This is from
Eureka Hydatos, Baldesion Arsenal. Had so much fun trying to get this. Miss those times playing with people. One of my fondest community memory in FFXIV. People hated Eureka but there was nothing like that before and since in the game where players came together like that.
Regalia.
This is from the FFXV event which will come back sooner or later for sure. It's not a flashy mount but so big and multi seat (though I only use it alone)
Nightmare.
Special mount from the ARR Extreme trials. So it drops above the normal ponies. Not sure how rare it is but took me a lot of solo Garuda kills to get it. Maybe just my luck?
Goten.
From the Garo PvP event. I'm proud that I was able to get this. I'm not a good PvP player at all but wanted this before the event went away. Love the colors, golden and red is a nice combo. And it's a metal horse! How cool is that?
Rathalos.
From the MHW crossover. I killed him here before in MHW :) Not a hard fight at all especially that you can unsync it now. But the drop rate is ultra low so prepare to get 50 kills if you want to farm it.
Kamuy.
The last Stormblood Ex mount when you got all the other dogs. It's just huge and big and looks good. In size comparable to Fenrir. And much bigger than the other dogs (also this should be a fox if I'm right?)
And the list could go on. The game has some awesome mount designs.
