I’ve been to the FFXIV Fan Festival once, seven years ago.
I’m not good with crowds, but my wife dragged me along.
Some friends of ours (a couple) were coming too, so we met up at the Outback Steakhouse in front of Kaihin-Makuhari Station. I remember eating and drinking a lot and talking until we ran out of things to say.
As for Makuhari Messe, the only other time I’d been there was once to renew my driver’s license, back when I lived in Chiba.
Maybe things are different now, but I remember it being a bit of a mess, with no maps and no staff guiding people.
I actually use the free tote bag they were handing out more than anything I bought at the merch booth.
