Freyja Duriastel being her birth name, she was an Ishgardian noble, branch of House Durendaire. She mentioned having a mother, a father, and an older brother named Lancefer. Being born in a military family she had been educated in the ways of a lancer, arcanist, and later, a rapier. She was once a devote believer of Halone and obeyed the laws of the Holy See until her mother had been accused of being a heretic and put into public execution. Only a week later her father would remarry. Upon seeing the horrors of both her father's and the churches' ways, she then ran away from home at sixteen with no plans of returning.
The Plague Doctor was an alias she went by after running away from home to be a Heretic. The name also came from a mask she would wear while going against Ishgardian forces. She lead and help govern a group of heretics that believe that both man and dragons could live with one another and gave aid to dragons that have been harmed by Ishgardians and the Holy See. When not the acting leader, Freyja traveled around Dravania, helping both refugees and friendly dragons in need, assisting the help and making a title for herself. During her downtime, she loves to plant flowers and grow her own food, often sharing them with the people around her. Around the time during her explorations in the Dravanian Forelands, she ventured deep into the mountains and got herself lost. It was then she came across an abandoned castle ruin. It is there she encountered the son of Nidhogg: Hohenheim. The obsidian dragon kept Freyja locked in his domain and then fought her under the orders of his father. But by the end, he set her free. Their relationship changed from predators and prey to friends to lovers. To help hide the dragon from the wrath of Nidhogg and his siblings that wanted her dead, Freyja conducted the ritual of binding the dragon's soul to a mortal's vessel. It was then the two would explore more of their love and travel around together meeting exciting friends along the way. When one of her escorting mission went wrong due to an ambush Freyja was thought to be dead. But she was rescued by Hraesvelgr, who would give her his blood thus transforming her into a dragon and then adopting her into his brood. She would later reunite with Hohenheim and start a family together. They would return to the castle ruins which would later be revealed to be part of a whole fallen kingdom; to which they had restored and called it home.
Freyja Helgarth Utgard She is now Queen, wife of King Sieghart Utgard, and mother of three children. When there is trouble in the world, she would easily drop her title and put on her mask to fight alongside her friend and allies. She takes her role of a Doomsday Knight given the title 'The Plague' as an irony of her old title despite being the opposite of causing famine
