Full name: Nei Lux Neo Her father was an Imperial noble more interested in his magitek research than nobles afairs. He traveled to Ala Mhigo to continue his research in a 'Fortress class' magitek. Here he encounters a female adventurer (half Ishgardian, half Gridanian) on a quest to find Alexander, a 'living fortres' or some say 'artificial primal'. The two continue their research together and eventualy fell inlove. In 1540 Nei is born. They live in Ala Mhigo until the 1552 carnage. Nei's mother dies to let her escape, leaving her only a diary. Then she lives in Garlemald with her father. In 1562 visiting her father lab, Nei's magic powers manifests picking the interests of the military. She is locked up in wait to be included in a military magitek experiment. Her father let her escape dying in the process. Nei then takes refuge in Gridania, where she begins to experience echo visions. As stated in her mothers diary she also had echo visions of calamity. She also had visions of the means to fight the coming calamities. So 3 words are repeated in the diary: Alexander(primal), Ultima(magic), Ragnarok(sword). So she trains and study to become an adventurer, but first she needs experience and companions. Nei loves moogles and Magitek armours. When the wars are over she wants to be a researcher/archeologist.
