Most people are a leaf. The wind blows, they're over here. Wind blows again, they're over there. They're unstable. All they do is take and give shade every now and then.
Branches will fool you. You walk out there on them, they'll break and leave you high and dry.
Find you a root? Better hold onto them, 'cause they're the ones that are there for you for life. The roots are what keep the tree alive.
You tell somebody who's your friend that they're hurting you and they still do it? They try to walk out of your life? Let them go. But you tell that to a friend and they stop and try to change for the better? That's a leaf that's trying to be something else, you can keep them around.
People be gettin' married with somebody that's supposed to be there for a season and confusing them with lifetime expectations.. And they wonder why they got all sorts of hell in their life. Nuh uh. I'd rather sit in a chair in a corner with a puppy and a goldfish and be happy, than to be with somebody and I'm wondering what the hell they there for.
