Rurudeya is a Lalafell conjurer originally for Ul'dah who migrated to Gridania. He is often called 'Rudy' for short.
Rudy was given the title 'aetherbane' after heroically saving a group of comrades who were on the brink of death. Rudy drew so much Aether to heal his friends that all the vegetation within 100 meters wilted. Rudy himself collapsed and nearly died.
Since that time Rudy has learned to be in better communion with nature. His friends gave him the title of 'aetherbane', half mocking and half out of respect.
Rudy is friendly and carefree. However when his friends' safety is at stake, he becomes resolute and willful.
