Dante left his home of Limsa Lominsa at a young age, tempted by the fortunes and fame of other heroes he had heard about. After a few years seeing distant lands, he felt a yearning to return to his hometown and reestablish ties with his old life. Upon returning, Dante learned of the Calamity and the Garlean invasion and decided to tap his latent powers, which manifest in the form of a small, emerald rodent (?!?!), and attempted to exert his will upon Eorzea.
As Dante delved deeper into the plight of Eorzea, he discovered that his link to the aether had a deeper connection, and he discovered more of the lost art of summoning; The ability to call on the essence of the Primals, and the ability to manifest a faerie to protect and enhance his allies. Using these new found abilities, Dante aided the Scions in defeating the core of the Garlean invasion forces, and put down their Ultima Weapon.
Little did he realise that his journey was just beginning...
After attaining all his wishes in the field of Arcanism, Dante then branched out into other schools of magic. while he had a natural aptitude for both the White and Black arts, he realised that the future would bring battle, and he didn't want to be on the defending side. Plunging into the abyss, Dante unraveled the mysteries of the void and became a premier Black Mage.
Although his primary goal is to become the ultimate battlemage, to be able to call forth and control the Egi of Bahamut and wield the power of Ultima, Dante still remembers his humble beginnings. He now spends his days offering assistance to new arrivals to Eorzea; showing them the sights, helping them defeat powerful foes, and guiding them to untold delight and undiscovered treasures.
For Dante, the greatest treasure is the chance to share with others the grand wonders of Eorzea.
