Just had to belt it out to someone who would know what I was talking about.
I get it that the DF is a cruel mistress sometimes, but a PUG I was in last night blew my mind.
It's DD - so it's not like were running Sastasha or something. The other three members of the PT were all in i70+ gear. I also understand that some people may not have run a certain dungeon in forever so they might be a bit fuzzy on the mechanics. It was my first time in in a year myself.
Mechanics aside, not a one of them had any clue how to perform their jobs. At all. I'm not an anal-retentive nag who gets high off of parser numbers. So long as the flow of combat feels right, I'm doing just fine.
However, when your PLD keeps forgetting that he has flash, and your BLM doesn't realize that they have more spells than Thunder II, something is up.
The WHM didn't inherently do anything wrong. Just seemed to really not know how to be a WHM. Had to keep getting healing tips from the BLM. I figure if you have iLv70+ gear, you've got to have at least half a clue how to do your job.
It's like having a trophy from winning the Indy 500 but having no idea how to drive.
This is the first time I've ever run into this where the player in question wasn't RMT. Unless RMT are getting more sophisticated and can now speak English. To include properly cursing at each other.
Just seemed really odd. Hopefully isn't a recurring theme. The other dungeons I did last night were just fine.
Yea you'll get those from time to time. I've done runs where people slugged through them. It may be they do know their jobs, it's just a dungeon that they don't care much about. As far as ilvl gear , that is easy to get with other high level jobs. Try not to read a book by its cover when it comes to that. It can be frustrating but remember you can't force people to do something they don't want to do. Trash talk doesn't get you results with everyone either. As I'm sure you saw.
I've had some where we slugged through it, and everything had a rational air to it. This one just stood out to me because it was so irrational and so odd. For one person, I could take that for what it is. Two people is certainly peculiar. Three people just seems statistically impossible. Three people who (from the context I was able to discern) had never met before that point.

I now see what you mean. I started playing two weeks ago (on this character) and I'm already ilvl69. Granted, I already knew what I was doing as it wasn't my first rodeo, and I really took no liberties as any other class.
