Well, it's not my first first week if that makes sense (autocorrect does not believe it makes sense). I'm a few alts in with FFXIV! Three of those alts have reached mentor status, and my last one was part of a one year experiment, trying to see just how much of the game I could complete in a year. Nearly all jobs got to level 90, I picked up three relics, 100 million gil, and scads of Triple Triad cards, mounts, minions and orchestrion rolls. The MSQ got completed through the end of Endwalker, with all job quests completed, crafting completed for all recipes in three expansions, and fish completed in ARR (I got pretty close with the HW fish!).
So, what to do next?
Start over. :)
See, I feel like there were still a few places where I could have been more efficient, so I'm off and running with a new alt. Before, it had been 10 weeks per expansion, getting me to the end of EW, but this time will hopefully be a little hastier!
One week in, and it's been a good start. In the MSQ, I have just gotten a Grand Company; All dol/dom/dow are to level 25, with all level 25 class quests complete. All crafters are to level 20, with the level 20 class quests complete. 40 plus Triple Triad cards, almost 40 commendations, and almost 40 fish caught, 655 achievement points and 200k gil (thanks, Challenge log! :D).
There will be speedier speed runs out there! There will be more complete completionist feats. But this should provide an interesting combination of the two.
I'll be sticking with the "rule of three" as much as possible. If I'm teleporting somewhere, I like to have at least three reasons to be there. It means a bit less time simply running around. I love like... doing a FATE that includes mobs that are in my Hunting Log while I'm queued up for a guildhest (and yes... those are big at this level! First time bonuses for running one with a class are big, as are the challenge log bonuses for guildies). How far will I take it this time? We shall see!
