Prince Xerxes Molxur hails from the eighth shard. While on the eighth shard, he stumbled onto a discovery of the truth behind the 13 shards, the source, his use of the echo, and the reason behind the calamities. Before him, an unknown Ascian appeared and sent Xerxes to the source with his memories of his entire past taken from him.
On the source, Prince Xerxes, a lost soul who made a new life for himself and inadvertently through fate joined the Scions in their ongoing adventures. Over time the echo gives him glimpses of his past on the eighth shard and he feels compelled to help the Scions in order to find what feels natural to him -- a way home to save his people and the source. Little does he know about the truth of his home...
