Namazu Beast Tribe!

公開
The crafting beast tribe of the Namazu came to the Azim Steppe in the newest patch. So far to me it seems a lot easier than the Ixal and a little less tedious than the Moogles. I don't think that's only because I'm doing it all at level 70, but that might have something to do with it. Actually, I really wish I had crafters to level because it seems almost a waste to be doing these advancement quests without receiving any exp for a crafter, but I want the Storm Sap, which is used in making the upgraded crafting gear/tools.

Yesterday I got a quest where you get on a pretty brown horsie and ride across the Steppe to hand off to a Mol horseherder. I liked that one!!

However, I don't particularly like the mount that is coming out at the end of the quests. I think riding on the side of a palanquin like as though on a parasail is a little odd. Shouldn't the rider be -inside- the palanquin? And the animation seems too busy. Overall I think that mounts are getting more and more obnoxious and less interesting or detailed. The palanquin part of the mount isn't particularly illustrated, it's very plain and flat-featured and overall just seems to take up a lot of space, rather than being interesting to look at.

Have you ever heard the story of the Little Red Hen? It was first published in 1918. It's a fable meant to teach children about appreciating putting their own work into the overall outcome of a project. I feel that it is very rare to find a person who wants to put part of themselves into a project. Mostly, it seems like people just want one person to do all the work, but will want all the perks and benefits of the outcome, and will wail if they are asked to put even a teensy inch of time into it themselves. I think its something that possibly expires when a person reaches a certain maturity level, but not always. It's like, "Oh, I can have this? I can have this? You'll make this for me? You'll make sure this is here all the time so I can just use it whenever I want? Ok now that I squeezed every drop out of you, I'm out." People who just sort of slime from one place to the next sucking up whatever they can get and then moving on like a weird, insatiable amoeba. That's kind of how I feel about beast tribes!! Why am I doing all this work? Why am I in charge of making sure this species doesn't go extinct? Don't they have any self-preservation instinct? If they can't do it without outside interference and direct intervention, maybe they SHOULD go extinct. That's actually how the entire concept of evolution works. I feel like the Namazu are filthy casuals. They just want to have fun, you know? They don't want survival of their species to become their 'full time job' or anything. Ok, so it's just my full-time job then?! How can you even call yourself a leader of the Namazu if you're just going to make one other person do everything like a lazy, entitled teenager and then actually physically cry when something doesn't go the way you want it. I'm making them confetti! I'm making them tea! For Pete's sake! They can't cut up paper themselves, but they want the paper! What!

And what are catfish doing in the Azim Steppe! It's completely not their environment. Why are they here? I really, really think their tribe should be at the Namazu manor in Yanxia.

But I do like to see the drunk Namazu flopping a little bit on the floor in the Yanxia manor. It's extremely cute. I also really like the carnival game of shooting the targets that come out of the pots! It's super cute and different from the other Tribe quests.

That's all for now! Just some thoughts from me!
