This game mode entirely killed pvp, people are getting kicked for wanting to kill other players or using limit breaks on them and instead of ice. There's no fun in wasting CD's on ice anyways and breaking it in 3 seconds lol. I honestly think ice shouldn't give so many points because that would force people to actually pvp.
So the other day I got slept on my round laner bird mount in shatter by an twin adders blackmage, while I was asleep the whole twin adders alliance ran by me LITERALLY and not one of them attacked me. Why? because they went straight towards the ice!!! That's soooo retarded!! Its PvP dude not lemme hit the ice and run away from a real fight!!

I don't mind the ice thing too much.
It is still PvP centric, ppl are just playing it wrong.
I've already seen many games where the outcome was not determined by ice, but by kills. Early wins come from kills, and I've seen games where all teams where ice centric, and destroyed all ice on map, and one team still was off by about 20ish points for win... so they had to get kills.
ofc, that's for 72 man. For 24 man version ice > players for sure. But in 72 man, teams need to start pressing more.
yeah but people are ignoring killing now in shatter. hit ice and run away GG. like im getting bored now, i was fine waiting an hour for a 24man match because was people actually liked to kill.. but now its like no ice ice ice ice ice

Indeed, so many matches my team could have won if half the alliance didn't break off to chase ice. Just lost a match that way now. And all ice was destroyed on map and the winner came down to which team could farm the other half of my team the faster.
Killing ppl adds up fast.
You should come to my data center. People kill me so many times, it's not even funny. Might as well paint a target on my back. I get killed at least four times every time I enter.
The ice strategy only works if every team is focused on ice, if at least one team is aggressively killing and the other two teams don't respond...
I die when I get greedy. And then it's "Ahhhhh! Fiona y u chase! Ahhhhh!"

People kill a lot in Seal Rock, why don't you do that?
It's not so much about that as ppl refusing to adjust to aggressive tactics. If one team is aggressively farming another team and nothing is done about it by the third team... well the aggressive team will win long before all the ice spawns.
The usual shatter salt... play secure or slaughter if you want the really fun modes :3

After the hype I'll do more FL again. My connection doesn't deal well at all with 72 man runs and everyone just grinds shatter instead of the other 3 options -.-
I still need to complete my field commander set some day but for now I just use the hype to farm 2-4 kills per run. Maybe I start feast next season tho in ranked once I feel more comfortable :3
I like the way Shatter is. Then again I only started PvPing in it this past week.

alot of my friends are slowly going away from pvp in this game. You start hitting people and boom they run away to next ice...
But isn't that where to get the most points? I'm still new so not sure. Aren't there other modes like 8 v 8 or 4 v 4?
on primal 4v4 doesnt pop much at plat/diamond. 8v8 is annoying without chat and other PvP modes are dead since people only know how to que for shatter. Since Seal Rock requires killing to push people don't like it apperently

Seal rock doesn't pop anymore because its pvp related and people are scared to actually fight. You have to actually fight to defend the node. People who like shatter are just cowards who go in there and hit ice to win but then again my team has won so many matches by killing and ignoring ice, so no, ice isn't the only way to win, if you don't like fighting then simply don't Q up for PVP. Noobs really ruined this game mode for real PVPers. Now its just full of cowards. SHATTER = RETARDED.
Yeah to put it in ncer words... at some point you get tired of hitting the ice after a while. Took me 2 month before the hype myself, now I hit an ice
a) with thunder and move on hoping for thundercloud to annoy enemies
b) it pops right where I stand and no enemy near, so why not for a change?
c) I want to try to push for a win those last few seconds
Usually my statistics are like sub 1k damage to ice 80k+ damage to pc or so by now (and only 3 kills -_-)

I don't believe you about Seal Rock not popping. I can get a queue to pop every 5-10 minutes here.
Don't care if you believe me or not, that's the way it is right now in Primal data center. Seal rock does not pop. I sat on Q for 2 hours and never popped. Last time I played a match was 2 weeks ago and I've been trying ever since.

I'll be honest when I say I like seal rock more. Shatter isn't bad, but is really similar to the slaughter version of cartenaeu. Each mode has its perks, and each mode has its downfall. For me, shatter has a cool map, but is very easy to get lost on. Seal rock is easiest to navigate, but rng can spell the end of your win.
I got vote kicked from a group yesterday for even suggesting we should farm some points after the big ice breaks and everyone runs away. At one of the ones close to our base even. So at least one of the other teams was at a major disadvantage lol
I've never been vote kicked before. People take it too seriously. If there are stragglers, take em out. If you're contesting your point, then focus on surviving, so long since your team is incoming. Otherwise bail out.

I still queue as a flames only maahdi. And usually as a smn. But I have been known to heal occasionally.
