[6.1] Macro development (Ishgard catchup, other)

公開
previous lalablog

Using the sets detailed at the end of my last post, I wanted to try and figure out what could be tweaked.

The baseline set has 3664 craft, 3784 ctrl, 573 cp. I used these stats when upgrading my macros from the 6.05 set, but with Ishgard catchup in particular, I allowed for specialist because I'd planned to do 500k per craft, which would probably be a multi-day venture, so I'd be able to have 6 specs (3 +3 swap) wk1 and then the remaining 2 on the 2nd wk, which seemed like a reasonable allowance. So starting stats for the G4 macro was 3684 / 3804 / 588.

What I wanted to share was both a focus on the thought process and on the end result.
To start with are these 2 G4 macros. They're both 56s and effectively the same, though one uses 7 less cp than the other. The unbuffed skill is for alignment purposs, to ensure the higher potency skills last through to the end of WN's buff while still falling under innovation.

The variable factors to take into account here are speed vs quality and "what if I can change: melds | consumables | buffs".
So, for example with FC buff II for control+10, it would jump to 14911 qual.
While it does hit the 3rd tier at a baseline (and will likely cap with a red proc), surely it can do better.
I tend to default to speed over quality, and while this macro is fast, it frontloads CP into Prep Touch (qual inefficient), so by decreasing those, we can increase quality. Although Prep is 200% efficiency, because it adds an extra IQ stack, it's better to frontload it and then run the basic combo (100-125-150) afterwards on the buffed IQ over doing 200% on a lower IQ.

This one's 62s, so 6s slower, but nearly caps quality. Is there a balance?
We're using specialist so why not the specialist skills?
I really like how spec allows you to frontload minor cost (via delineations) for a push when it counts. 15w scrip per craft will certainly add up (estimated 42.8k white scrip to do all 8 if 1.4k pts/craft napkin guess) but allows for an additional 20cp or anytime-use Precise Touch. At the same time 42.8k is only ~217 L89 crafts and I've mats for a few thousand atm, so why not use a fraction of the resources available?

Yah it works. It feels a bit crude to just use ToT though. Surely it can be improved still.

These 2 are as fast as I could get it while capping qual. The 59s one doesn't use FC buff, so it's a bit more flexible if say, the FC is doing ulti and bogarting all the buffs :(
The 58s one does, for a 1s gain (lol) by swapping a Trained Finesse for Great Strides, which is technically less efficient quality-wise, but still 1s faster because it's a buff and it's good enough.

But what if you don't wanna spend white scrip? Each of these macros is ending with a good chunk of CP left, but notably, not enough to drop the 21 cp potion. You could use a crappier cp potion to save $ as many of the older ones are like 100-200g, but the most any macro had leftover was 17cp (+3 from meld swaps, so max 20) - not enough to drop it entirely for a command draught. But what if we swapped an earring for -6cp +12 ctrl? 42.8k scrip is ~1-1.2m in materia IX (at 6-7k ea), and melding an earring would definitely be cheaper.

Works but requires FC buff II, and is 62s.

Spending scrip to speed up the craft is, at face value, worthwhile because although that's still an additional ~217 crafts at 28s ea (+turn in and menu time), it's ~105m to save 190.5m at 4s/craft, comparing 58s vs 62s. If only a 3s difference, it's ~142.9m. This isn't taking into account the time required to source the materials for 217 crafts, which I would think is optimistically a break-even at 3s and barely worth it at 4s. Otoh you would be generating SB from the 217, so there's ~2.5 sets of materia in there. Small consolation right?

Ultimately if, instead of spending all this time minmaxing (though I was gathering on cd) I had just slapped on the 2nd 62s macro, the time invested in trying to save time would've been better spent just crafting. But where's the fun in that :c

The previous Ishgard tests I'd done (over a year ago) had shown that a T2 macro (at a much larger quality differential) would still become 75% T3 from red procs, about 13% of those 100% hq, with few crafts at baseline quality. Given that all of these macros reach baseline T3, the difference feels inconsequential and I expect good results (which I'll try to test before the new PoE league..) from using any of the non-scrip macros. That is, a single red proc during the quality stage would catapult even the first 56s non-scrip macro from 92% to 98%.

This smoothbrain potato forgot about Malleable / Primed being a thing. Ultimately this means +2s time added in the form of Final Appraisal as the 2nd groundwork risks early completion, and +3s from an extra Observe to bait out a potential +2 step WN2. I updated the macros below, but I cbf to go through the text above and update all the time estimations.

So, pending testing, I would expect either the (now) 61s macro: https://pastebin.com/qr7WbUA0
or the (now) 67s quality one to be the most economical: https://pastebin.com/UQitRb4w

Preliminary results for the 61s macro - will update w/ larger sample size eventually

Following the same process of starting with a base set, then seeing what meld, buff, consumable differences allowed for, I've arrived at these 2 macros for Pactmaker stuff:

The 64s macro is a 0-hq specialist one.
As the armor is covered by wvr + ltw, I think you could reasonably allocate 2 specialists to that, and bsm to a large chunk of the weapons. But if preferring not to, the 58s macro is a generic one that requires 1hq mat. As the quality req'd is low enough, it's better to macro the old material submat rather than the eblan to save time:

It's possible there are better. I'm mostly disconnected from the community and prefer figuring things out for myself (happily warned in advance), but I'm open to comments if there's any improvements to be had. I'll likely edit in the results of the Ishgard tests over the next couple days if I can gather materials in time. The greens are awkwardly expensive atm :(
