Hello everyone! Today I would like to discuss the Mogstation items that have been recently implemented as of this Christmas week. We'll start with the mounts, go to outfits, and finish with the emote. Each item listed will be discussed and I will try to have images to accompany them. Additional shots can be found on Mogstation and on the ffxiv reddit.

Let's start with the Topaz and Aquamarine Carbuncle mounts. These adorable mounts will set you back $24USD. The details in the saddle and the headpiece on these are very charming. The carbuncles glow like the pets for SCH, and I appreciate that touch vs. the plush minion versions of these. The overall look of the carbuncles are well done-- even if it is just a blown up version of the pet with armor on it. The flying animation fits the mount and looks nice in my opinion. My one gripe is this: this mount looks great for lalafells. I have seen this mount for the other races and it feel awkward. The carbuncle is small and larger races look almost "clownish" riding one of these. I haven't seen a male roe on one of these yet in game, but I am hoping to see that soon because I have a feeling I'm gonna lose it laughing. The screenshot SE provided of the flying topaz carbuncle has a male roe on it, but he's in the background so it's really hard to get a feel for the larger races on the mount.



Next we have the Aquamarine and Topaz Carbuncle outfits. The detail in these outfits are nicely done. The influence of the carbuncle housing items can be felt within the design of the outfits and are appealing to both sexes for wear. These outfits are dyeable! A nice feature considering some outfits in the past SE has put on the Mogstation have not been dyeable and have cost a considerable amount of money. I am particulary fond of the headpiece-- but only on the non-Au Ra and M'iqote races. My reason for this is I have a hard time with the "ears on ears" look some of these helms give. For example, the fox ears from the F.A.T.E. tokens. I find those particulary disturbing to me. So again, although it's not my cup of tea on those types of races, I'm sure they can be quite appealing to others out there. My gripe with this outfit: I have already seen the clipping of the neck carby. You'll have to base your hair around the carby AND Au Ra have horn clipping which can be quite annoying. Simply fixing the hair can help reduce the clipping look but if you're an Au Ra-- well Fantasia IS currently on sale. This outfit will set you back $18USD.



Finally we have the emote. We've seen Khloe and Zhloe use this emote and now you can too! For only $7USD you too can give big puppy dog eyes. It should be noted that big puppy dog eyes don't work on me. I see past that bullshite. Joking aside, this emote looks nice enough. The face gives a nice expression and isn't too over the top. I'm not going to lie, I particularly like the screenshot SE gave with the male vs the female. More for the comedy aspect of it than anything else though. I might have to pick this one up myself at some point. I don't RP but I can see this as a really nice RP emote. Overall, not bad! My gripe: I'm not a fan of Zhloe of Khloe-- I know I'm terrible. I mean, I understand this emote basically comes from people's love from them but *shrugs shoulders* meh. Honestly, that's my only gripe and that's not even a gripe. I just don't care for those characters. They annoy me. When I see this emote on a cat person I might be reminded of those characters and get triggered. Like, maybe an outright rage with potatoes being thrown. I kid. Maybe not potatoes-- I'd rather not throw my kin. All joking aside, not a bad emote!



Overall consensus is *drum roll please* NOT BAD! Yeah, I'm genuinely interested in what was presented to us. Price wise? Well the mount is a little pricey so I might wait until a sale goes or it gets gifted to me-- or I get a wild hair up my butt and decide to just go for it. The outfit is dyeable and considering the Lyse one wasn't and it's $12USD I don't think it's that bad price wise with all the details. The price of the emote runs typical to most emote prices on Mogstation so I can't complain on that as well. Will I buy these? Probably! Right off the bat? Ehhhh...not sure.
