Error 90002 - is there something I can do?

I keep on getting disconnected every 5-10mins, specifically when I am in combat and it says 90002 error. I have good computer, very fast internet. I even disabled my firewall/anti virus, restart my internet, even tried using pingzapper and its still the same. I dont know what else to do. I just got here at OKC, I am originally from Hawaii, will that make any sense about this problem? Also, the time when I arrived here at Oklahoma (yesterday), the game is running smooth and it just started a couple of hours ago. Can anyone tell me whats goin on or prolly help me how to fix this? I've been having the same problem on Brynhildr since 2.55 came out...
That error happens to me frequently. I'm guessing it's a hickup in the server due to traffic flow. It seems to happen to me when there are a lot of people on or there is a lot going on in an area. It's not a bug and that I can tell there really is nothing you can do to counter it. It's annoying but I believe it's up to SE to fix such a thing on their end.

I'm having this issue also. My internet works perfectly but I keep getting knocked off. This needs to be fixed.
Yeah I haven't been playing at all due to this issue, and what's worse is that PS4 doesn't have any connectivity issues. This seems to only happen to me, as the other 4 people I play with all do PS4 and have no idea what I'm talking about when I bitch about connectivity issues.

Only recently started within the last week or so for me, thought it was due to the preparations being made for Heavensward release, but now i'm beginning to wonder. Here's hoping its fixed with expansion!

I been having the same issue for the last 3 days. I tried everything and even called my isp. There is no issue when playing other games. I guess since alot of people are starting to play again before heavensward. I hope they resolve this issue.

Ever since I bought this game a few months back Ikeep getting the 90002 error every hour no matter what.I even tried vpns like WTFast it keeps happening like clockwork.
I tried solving it with my ISP for weeks and they didn't find anything.No other game or MMO gives any problems.This has to be on Square Enix's end.
Please fix this,we pay a sub for access to the game and I'm not getting the experience I pay for.
I am and have been experiencing the same problem as all of you, not just today since Heavensward early access started, but for the past 3 weeks. My internet connection has been excellent and haven't had any problems with anything but this game, continuously getting disconnected with Error 90002!

same here, the main character its freeze and.... error 90002, cant play.
Started getting this code today, every time I relogin I get kicked about 3-5 minutes and this really sucks, I hope they find a solution for this, it's probably because many players are on the server :P

Open up a the run interface (Windows Button + R)
Type in ‘CMD’ – this will bring you to the command prompt
Type in ‘PING <IP Address> -t’
And you'll see your conection to the servers

(I have torn my rig apart trying to find out why. went through all software. cant do anything but craft or i am tossed. 90002)
BTW, I tried the ping test suggested by Rexisog. says avg is 48 ms
I first got this error when Heavensward was released and we had the early start window, then it got patched and the error seemed to go away. Now we have had another patch and the error seems to be back, second disconnect today.
Started having this issue yesterday, makes the game unplayable... I just want to do my dungeon roulette.

Im honestly having the same problem, it was fine on thursday, but friday and today I cant even go into dungeons without getting disconnected from the server, my internet connection is fine. Im more worried that its me and not the game.
I was having this same issue since Thursday (July 2nd). My fix ended up being adjusting my McAfee firewall settings. I opened FF14 to all ports and turned off the Net Guard for it. Hope this helps someone.

I'm having the same problem since the maintenance of the 9th of July.
I have been playing the game on and off for a year and that has never happened before. No other devices or connections (PC, Mobile, PSN)are affected.
Does anyone know what causes this ?

This is how you lose subscribers and their money. I'm forking over money for a game I can't even play. Hard to believe SE hasn't fixed this. I expected better from them.
I've been having the same problem. I thought it was due to my steam account type, so i went and bought heavensward through the SE store but i still get the same 90002 error.
I started having this issue today 7/19 and its really upsetting I haavent been able to play for a while. PC/Steam, US. I'm hoping someone can come up with a fix or workaround for this issue.
I've been getting the same problem since the last patch. While I would get random disconnects, it's now reached a point where I can't stay logged in more than five minutes.
I've tried rebooting the router, refreshing my IP and DNS, but it's seems to always come back. Given the amount of people who are having this exact same issue, it would seem that the last hot fix changed something related to the connection between the player and servers.
Agreed i have the same issue (PS4 - Odin). However i usually tend to disconnect when joining an instance via the duty finder.

I have this problem aswell randomly disconnect getting the 90002 error and cant log in for 5 minutes cause then i get the 3102 error saying i am still logged into the game this is really annoying hope they do something about it (Odin server)
I tried messaging square enix support about this error 90002 I too am receiving, and literately got no response back. I got a survey though asking how they did.... lol They've gotta fix this error soon it's starting to make the game unplayable, and very frustrating.
I, too, am also experiencing this. Since I returned to the game two nights ago, I have disconnected from the game over 30 times (yes, I stopped counting after 30..). I'm about fed up, seeing as I can't do much outside of a dungeon.
I get this happening to me about 8:00 PM EST about every 2 mins of actually being in the game error 90002 and slaps me in the face.
As annoying as it is, it's good to know I'm not alone, thought it was a problem with my connection. Hope they get it sorted soon, it's starting to impact on my game experience.

Got 90002 just a couple minutes ago and got 10105 error earlier in the day. Never gotten this before. The game did update when I logged in this morning, but is there a solution to this?

I'm having the same issue, just started for me the other day. 90002 disconnects every few minutes when I'm in Mist; seems better in other locations.

This started happening to me as well about a week ago. Every time I first launch the game and log in, I'll get disconnected immediately and it will repeat this a few times. I thought it might've been because my wireless connection to my router was probably weak, but then I tried hooking it up directly and still experienced the issue. Hope this gets worked out soon.

Same issue. I've been running the game on my ps3 for a year without issue. Now I can't stay in the game for more the 5mins. I hope they fix it soon...
I resubscribed 2 weeks ago and everything ran flawlessly until today. I get constant 90002 errors within a minute or two of login in. SE customer support chat suggested port forwarding and that did nothing. While i was at it i updated firmware as well. What could have triggered the sudden onslaught of disconnects? Nothing has changed in my system in those 2 weeks.
This issue started for me today and has made the game unplayable. Disconnect every 2 minutes. This problem has been going on for 4 months and still no fix???

Ive been getting it for lil over a month. i have my third new modem since ive been constantly bugging my internet comapny. they dont see an issue. Its obnoxious as fudge. and when it happens, skype will go down as well. its not my modem or router.

Same here... Normally I'm not really doing anything at it is, but as of recent it has been while i'm in the middle of ex or something.. also i notice the little disconnect icon flash next to my name over and over. I've tried everything I can on my end. For the love of the twelve SE please fix this.
This has been happening to my two characters since 09/17/2015. I can't do anything in game and Internet is excellent, to make matters worse I keep getting the run around from sp.
I get this error randomly everyday on Ragnarok server, since April.
Will be logged in for hours with no issue and then I just now was kicked 4 times in a dungeon... super frustrating!
Today that error doesn't stop appearing.. it's a little bit annoying :(

Started having this issue a few days ago myself. Running a tracert, mine slows significantly once I hit Montreal. Otherwise, speeds quite happily across the country with pings <20 until I hit Montreal, where I slow to 200-250ms pings.
I am also getting this issue...what are we paying monthly sub for? Sometimes I honestly feel like SE does this on purpose because they like to invoke frustration, it happened all the time on FFXI too, and I have NEVER had any connectivity issues with any other MMO including the Free to play MMO's...
Same here.. Can't connect since two days, or I get disconnected after 5 min. I have looked on the internet and None seems to have a solution for this. I think it is shamefull... Especially looking to how long this problem seems to be around...
Been in the game 270++ days without major issue, but now it has been 2 days where I constantly hitting this DC issue. Double checked all my hardware and even reset the router but they don't help, it is really very very frustrating....

Problem fixed it was the uploading speed, I talked to my internet service and they fix it. You can check your speed in the web any speedtester.

And sometime when I'm trying to reconnect, it gives me error 2002.

I also have the same error happening as of right now. I noticed that there are character creation restrictions on my server(Ultros) right now as well. Maybe it has something to do with that? No idea.
I was trying to craft and I have noticed latency yesterday was higher than usual. Today Forget about it lag is so horrible I don't even bother crafting because my food is getting wasted. It shouldn't take me 1.5 minutes to finish crafting one item. Does anyone have any info on when or if SE will implement a maintenance today?
90002 90001, every time since 3.1, never happened to be prior. This is a bad joke or someones great idea of pissing me cuz its working.

Getting either a 90001 or 10105 error every time I try to log in with my main, following the notification that the world (Lich) is full with 50-75 players in the queue. The server disconnected me upon leaving an A1 instance and I haven't been able to get past the loading screen since.

On Balmung and it's doing this to me now as well. 90002 error whenever I try to play.
Never had it this bad before... Is it a server side issue or not? I'd like to know before I start unplugging and reseting stuff.

Pretty much every primal server has been pulling 90002 errors for a couple of days now. WTH
Got those after patch 3.1 start coming out, It's plaguing me ever since when I doing recordings, duties and such... SE, please fix the server so we can enjoy the game... orz

4 days of this on ps4 Jenova Server. No problems with any Internet activity other than FFXIV. Started for me after the Christmas maint. Seems to be less awful in non-peak hours.

Been having this issue for days now, ISP says no issues, cant find a root cause. Dublin, Ireland - ISP: UPC.
I just came back to the game, purchased Heavensward, started playing this morning, and have been disconnected no less than 6 times with 90001 and 90002 errors in less than 3 hours.
Hard to get back into the game after taking a year and a half off when this happens. I am really surprised there have been no replies on this thread with fixes. Is that normal?
So a little follow up. I'm no comp expert, so I'm hoping someone can help
I play on PS4. After speaking to Comcast for a VERY long time, I got nowhere. Same for SE
Logged on before work, I had 0 disconnect. Later that night, had an undisrupted hour during peak time. I fire up my laptop and within 10 mins, boot. logged in a few more times and Im kicked. I power down my PC, I have no trouble. Since leaving my PC off while playing, have no error. The moment my PC is on the issues return. thoughts?
Still having the same problem. 3 90002 errors in 10 minutes. Restarted router/modem, checked all cables. But I do not think it is a hardware problem. I can go hours at a time other times with no issues.

Each time I try to log in, I have to wait in queue... only to get booted once my time pops. As I try to log in again, the queue has nearly doubled. Again I wait, again I'm booted, again the queue doubles... omg its a vicious cycle. LOL! Frustrating as hell... nearly as frustrating as WoW. LOL!!
Its doing it to me nonstop right now, i checked my internet connection and its gread, its 4 45 in the morning so i dont think the server is full. Its just one of those things that has been neglected for a LONG time, like i understand the day heavensward came out, but its been months later with the same issue. My ps4 says 45mb download speed so i know for a certain its not my internet
